The virtual ballet gala “Re-Salire” went online on youtube on 27. March 2021. The eMail announcement below captures the motivation and mood of the moment. Find the full gala here.

Dear all,

first of all I hope that this email finds you healthy and good! It has been a long time since I was in touch with some of you. As you can imagine, these have been strange times for the arts in general, and ballet in particular. First I waited patiently, then I realized that routine the way we knew it was probably not coming back for a long time. 

And so finally I decided to react and do something with all of the time that suddenly was at our disposal. I needed to put my emotions into a project to give a sense to what was going on; to find a new ground where I could feel somewhat “safe”. 

I decided to create a ballet event, asked a few of my colleagues if they were willing to participate, and they said yes! With the help and support of many, we organized the venue, found the video artist and “Re- salire” was born. It makes me immensely proud that we did it, and I hope you will enjoy the result!

That’s why I m writing. The video will go online tomorrow, 27.3., at 19h30. I would love to hear your impressions and thoughts.
